Littl’Ans’ UK tour brings them to the Barfly Glasgow this Wednesday with support from The View, Blind Pew and The Mode.
Littl’Ans released their debut single “Their Way” featuring Pete Doherty, on Rough Trade Records on October 17th, reaching number 22 in the charts.
Like their collaborator, controversy follows this band, and a recent tour date supporting Babyshambles ended with the band’s tour bus being subject to an “SAS style bust” – the band were taken to Telford police station and were later released without charge but not before being subjected to strip searches.
Doherty’s contribution is said to be an apology to Littl’Ans’ Andrew Aveling (ex Add N to X) after he raided Littl’Ans when forming Babyshambles – drummer Adam Ficek was a member of Aveling’s band before taking up duties with Doherty.
Debut single Their Way is “a slice of pure, ragged pop that you are sure to take to your heart. It's lovely, languid, lolloping and charming.”
BLIND PEW’s dirty, funky rock’n’roll returns to the Barfly – the scene of their You’re Claimed! EP launch in September. Compared to the likes of the Rolling Stones and the White Stripes, a recent live review of the band stated:
“Blind Pew' incorporate their tongue-in-cheek humour into their dirty garage rock music, which quite frankly works well for them.”
THE MODE are relative newcomers to the Glasgow scene but are making a good impression, according to a review of a recent gig: “making an impact big enough to match a ship being launched into the Clyde.” Their indie-rock sound can be heard on their debut EP “The Line”, which is out now.
