Supragod – The Biography
The story of Supragod goes all the way back to a historic moment in 1991. In front of 400 6-12 year old children, and a couple of frightened teachers, a band called “the mother fuckers” made their stage debut. The main influence was off course Guns n Roses and the band consisting of 10-year old friends Jay Lynch, Richard the Radical, Jack Bowski and Jean Baptiste was determined to put this band on the paper and become huge, drug addicted, rock stars.
12 years later Jean Baptiste went to law school.
While Jean Baptiste were spending his money on books on how to retain law and order some other fine men had a hard time trying to not break the very same. Luckily drunk people get funny ideas and in January 2003, a band called Cheerleader entered the legendary Sunlight Studio to have even more legendary producer, Tomas Skogsberg, involved in a recording that would lead this band a couple of miles further down the road leading to the glimpsing goal, to become huge, drug addicted, rock stars. The band was Richard the Radical, Jay Lynch, Jack Bowski and the new drummer Billy “bad habit” Williams.
After getting great reviews on this first EP the band went on to play throughout the whole Sweden and pretty much anywhere else where electricity could be found. The word of this outrageous rock n roll act got spread worldwide and one day Mr. Kory Clarke (Ex. Warrior Soul, Space Age Playboys) called to say that this band would have to go on tour with him. It didn’t take the boys long to figure out that this was an opportunity not to miss out on and a month later a UK tour was on the schedule. The tour went very well and got great press (5/5K in Kerrang, 8/10 in Powerplay Magazine). Heading back from UK filled up with confidence the band made some difficult, but necessary, changes in the line-up. Due to a lacking motivation Jack Bowski would leave the band and get replaced by the northern star and bass maniac Dr. Danny DNA. With him came a new shot of adrenalin and the band finally took the shape that will stay until death, or women, tears us apart. With the new line-up came a more stuck together sound and we felt like it was time to change the bands name.
Supragod became the letters to remember and after trying out different studios the band once again went back to its roots and the Sunlight Studio. With the help of punk-rock magician Tomas Skogsberg (producer of The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Entombed, Demons etc.) another 6 songs were recorded during 2 days. The result is by far one of our happiest moments and we are proud to present our latest release in September 2005. This recording is a good document on the times we’ve left behind and the time we’re about to enter, this recording is the introduction to your new favourite band and to all the reasons why rock n roll cannot die. This is Supragod, the Rock n Roll idiots.
