After nearly 3 years together StandbY (www.myspace.com/standbyrock )have parted company with both bassist Mark and singer guitarist Fitzy leaving songwriter and lead guitarist Bobby and drummer Will remaining.
So we are going to take this opportunity to re-evaluate our sound and direction, maybe change our name, and of course put a new band together.
So we are looking for any singers out there who would like to step in and front the band, male or female considered, if you play an instrument too then all the better, but its not vital at all, what we really want is a proper frontman/woman with confidence and the right attitude and look.
We also need a bass player, a no nonsense solid reliable player with decent enough gear, nothing we play is going to be overly taxing, but it is fun to play, and we need a good meaty bass sound delivered with confidence and style.
We rehearse in a non commercial rehearsal space across the street from the Carling Academy in Glasgow, just now we have no set rehearsal time, but are hoping to nail down a block booking on Sunday evenings 6 till 11, but this can be discussed when we have a full band again. Studio has its own facilities, toilet, cooking equipment, secure off street parking, and is fantastically seedy.
