YOUR SOUND IS BACK. THAT’S A FACT.
Glaswegian, electric punk rock band and Term 1’s overall artists of the month We Are The Physics will perform as Guest DJ’s at the next Your Sound in King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Sunday 1st April from 4pm – 8pm.
The quartet, formerly known as We Are The Physics Club And Therefore Everything We Say Is Fact recently released the single Fear Of Words/ This Is Vanity and despite being on the scene for only 2 years, the explosive, rebel band have already built up a fantastic reputation.
Last month’s Your Sound was yet again attended by a fantastic support network of the Scottish music industry all giving advice to over 25 bands, including Mee-Ching (Scottish Music Centre), Jamie Gilmour (BAC’S/SMC), Keren McKean (Biglife Management), Yvonne McLellan (V2 Records), Ali Davidson (Warner Records), David Arcari (Buzz Records), Derek Mackinnon (New Found Sound), John McInally & Fraser Thomson (Xfm Scotland) and Chris Healy (Terminal Music) to name a few. Plus photographer John Linton attended and took some free promo shots of the bands.
Beaches of The Proud took the coveted Artist of the Month title and The Makos and 3 White Mice were announced as the runners up, while Manda Rin (Bis) played one of the best DJ sets heard at the event yet. To see the full playlist of artists featured log onto www.kingtuts.co.uk/yoursound.
March also hosted a fantastic exhibition by illustrators Laura Frame and Shona McGuiggan. Recent graduates from the Glasgow school of art, they have already sold many pieces of art to the Nationwide Mercury Music competition, E&A Clothing, the Saatchi Gallery and The Drum magazine while Laura has completed CD artwork for the likes of Jose Gonzales, Snow Patrol and the Debuts.
