LAST CHANCE FOR YOUR SOUND BANDS TO CONNECT
Bands are being urged to send their demos in now for the penultimate Your Sound of Term 2, which will be their very last chance to get onto the May playlist making them eligible to perform on the Your Sound Bandstand at Scotland’s newest boutique music festival Connect.
Taking place in the exquisite grounds of Inveraray Castle from August 30th until 2nd September, Connect will play host to twenty of the very best bands to have graced the playlists of Your Sound during Term 1 & Term 2. The acts featured on the playlist on Sunday 6th May at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut from 4pm until 8pm will be the final bands to be considered.
A judging panel made up of promoters DF Concerts and some of the delegates from past Your Sounds will make the decision on the 20 bands that will be lucky enough to perform at the very first year of Connect and the decision will be announced at the June Your Sound.
Last month’s Your Sound was once again well attended by bands and local A&R while We Are The Physics spun a suitably weird DJ set and Baillie And The Fault was named Artist Of The Month – winning not only the chance to be considered for Connect but also a photo shoot with photographer John Linton. The guest DJ at the next Your Sound will be the new King Tut’s band booker Craig McGee. Craig is the creator of two of Glasgow’s best indie club nights whitenoisefeedback:distortion and HORRORSHOW plus he has DJ’d all over the UK including T in the Park and Death Disco London.
To be in with a chance of becoming May’s Artist of the Month, being added to the playlist and even a space on the Your Sound bandstand at Connect send your demo in now for consideration. Simply log onto www.kingtuts.co.uk, click on the Your Sound logo, go to the 'Get Involved' section to download an application form, and submit this along with two CDs to: Your Sound, 272 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5RL. All bands MUST submit an application form.
