I am a student at the University of Munich/Germany and planning to do a research paper on modern Scottish music. I'm particularly interested in the "scottishness"of today's bands and artists...
Is the relation to Scotland more significant than ten or twenty years ago? (i.e. Glasvegas, We Were Promised Jetpacks, The Twilight Sad vs. Wet Wet Wet, Primal Scream etc.)
Is Glasgow becoming increasingly independent from London music scene? Does Scotland play a role in today's music in the first place or is it just the bands' own eagerness to create music which pushes them on?
Please give me some input!
