I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong in my herbal wash!!

On Tuesday evening, I oiled my length (put on very little) and ends, and wiped the remainder on my scalp. It was very little oil. I let it sit for 2 hours, and when I took it down my length looked almost completely dry. Then before applying my herbs, I did something different.

I took a spoonful of herbs and put them in another bowl and added water to make it a rinse. I massaged that water into my scalp and poured it all over my scalp too. Then I applied the herbs on my hair in my usual way.

The next morning when I went to wash it out, I first dunked my hair in the bowl of leftover herbs which I had filled with water. Then I rinsed it all out with cool water. I dunked my hair (and scalp) in the bowl again, massing my scalp underwater. Then I rinsed it all out.

My length feels great. It is soft, well-conditioned, and just feeling lovely. However, my scalp is just... blech. It is a bit greasy, but that tiny bit of greasiness just makes everything look bad. I don't know why my hair is relying on shampoo so much! When I first started doing herbal washes my scalp would be cleansed beautifully, but now it ends up being slightly greasy every time. Even when I alternate with shampoo washes. sigh Sometimes i wish I didn't have to experiment so much and things would just WORK!

Love,
