At home, I keep a little tub of olive oil in my bathroom that I can dip my fingers into and use whenever I need a little bit of extra moisture. Here, however, I don't have that, and I haven't been oiling. I found a bottle of extra virgin olive oil and I decided to pout some into a bowl for an oiling treatment.
I remembered that last year I used a tablespoon on my length and scalp and my hair absorbed it so well that it looked like my hair wasn't even oiled (obviously my hair needed a lot more moisture back then!) So I put a tablespoon into a bowl and decided to use the whole lot.
Now, this turned out to be a HUGE oiling treatment for me. My hair was absolutely dripping with oil. I put it up in a bun and went out in the sun to help it absorb in (that didn't turn out too well, though! LOL!). Then I used my herbs on my length and scalp and left them in overnight.
In the morning when I rinsed out my herbs, my scalp felt a little oily, so I shampooed just my scalp. My hair went up into a damp bun and dried over my pillow at night. I just combed it out and... my hair is
really overconditioned!
When I use the perfect amount of oil so that most of it gets absorbed in (or it is absorbed by the time I go to wash), the herbs are sufficient to wash it out. Now I used too much, and I have already packed my shampoo and conditioner, so I can't wash again. Yuck, I hate this, it feels like I have oiled my hair lightly all over and haven't washed it out! I'm hoping the oil will absorb into my hair over the week... I don't want it to look yucky for my birthday

. Anyway, now I know that 1 tablespoon is WAY too much for my hair and I really don't need that much.
3 days till I go home! I'm so excited! I can't wait!

Love,
