Last night was deep conditioning night, so I decided to try something new. Usually, when I rinse in the morning, I will shampoo my scalp at the same time. However, I found shampooing upside down was getting too difficult as my hair was getting longer, so I shampooed
before putting the conditioner on. I think a lot of people do this, and it works much better.
I shampooed my scalp with Body Shop Honey Moisturizing Shampoo (oh, how I love this!

) and let the shampoo run down the rest of my length. After getting out of the shower, I blotted my length to get rid of excess moisture and let my hair dry a bit. After around half an hour, I applied this mixture:
- 1 tablespoon honey (I
love this - it really brings out my waves, too!)
- 1 tablespoon Caring conditioner (super moisturizing)
- 1 tablespoon John Frieda Kelp Help (not great for the hair, but makes the rest of the mixture smell really nice)
- 1 teaspoon of shea butter
- a few drops of Proactiv protein treatment
I rinsed it out this morning. As I was rinsing, I could feel that my length was
super soft. It was great! I put almond oil on my damp ends and now it is air drying. I am going to try not to touch it at all while it dries to get more waves.
Winter is approaching! It's definitely getting cooler. I think winter here is like autumn in western countries - a cool breeze, cold enough to need a sweater but not anything heavy like a coat. But our leaves never get gold and red and fall off - they are bright green all year long! The
worst thing, though, is the dryness. No more humidity, like I am used to. This is nice for my hair because I can leave it down with less frizz, but bad for the rest of my body, which is prone to dryness.
I might start washing my hair even less, now, because i hate the feeling of cold, wet hair on my back when the weather is cool! If need be, I will scalpwash more often and try to wash the length less. We'll see!
Off to go practise piano
