Response to June 2005

I haven't quite been sticking to my summer "schedule" but I have been able to get all the important stuff in. For example, I was supposed to bellydance 6 days a week, but did Daddy ever get me my VCR? Noo . It's not his fault, really, but still, I don't have a VCR, and all this fat is just piling on! LOL! I am doing yoga, though, and music theory, and learning Hindi daily. Oh, yes, and my wonderful 6 hours of piano a day.

Agh! Piano! My exam is in a month and I feel so unprepared. When I am alone in my room, everything goes really smoothly, but I have started to get nervous playing in front of my piano teacher now. Imagine how I would feel in front of TWO examiners! Ack! And this is a really serious exam, too. There is a 50% fail rate and if I do pass, it is like having a bachelor's degree in piano performance. I guess 16 is a little young to have a bachelor's degree, so if I do fail, I won't feel TOO awful about it . I just have to remember to relax and stay calm, keep up my practise, and not worry about failing! (I used to want to get a distinction, but I'll be lucky if I just pass now! LOL!)

Oh, yes, this is a hair journal... right . My hair seems to be doing well, actually. It's usually up and out of my way because of this HEAT! It's pulled back in a bun, braid, shortened ponytail, or other updo during the day, and in the folded-up braid at night. I take it down to comb once or twice a day, and that's about it! My scalp has been itchy, and I have been itching it, but it hasn't been getting greasy. That is a really good sign! It is also quite soft and thick when I take it down to comb it through, so it is really behaving quite well.

I can't wait till my wash this weekend! I am going to do an all-natural wash will all the nicest, most-conditioning natural products! This is what I am planning to put in:

- Coffee
- Yogurt
- Honey
- Olive oil
- Eggs
- Shea butter
- Banana? Big maybe! This is hard to get out of the hair!

That should be enough. I have stopped leaving deep conditioners in overnight, but I don't think this would overcondition my hair unless I go too heavily on the shea butter or olive oil. It probably won't smell very good, so maybe I'll put in some rosemary essential oil. Mmm, that would be nice! I can't wait!

Love,
