very well! I had no idea they were that good. I wonder how far animals can hear it and respond to the call. I 'm excited about that because I don't want to put a scope on my 350 until I get it tuned a little, so in the meantime, if I can call the squirrels and have them come to within 10yds of me (or 10ft) I can take them with open sights.. theoretically. I don't know if they 'd bolt when I raise the rifle.. I guess that would work best if you wearing Camo and hiding somewhere. It would be funny if the squirrel started coming down the tree which you 're hiding behind, directly above you.

I have a couple of red-tail hawks here too Dave. Most of them have an orange tail. They petite and good looking predators. They scare the hek out of all the small game when they come around. All the small birds disappear, even the groundhogs (used to) run down their burrow, & squirrels make some noise at first I think to warn others and then do a disappering act. It gets quiet very fast, except for a bluejay once in a while that will give chase to one of them, but the doesn't look bothered, like the bluejay is not even there. Sometimes I get a really big bird that looks like an eagle and sits on one of my willow tree branches. Scares the crap out of me when I walk outside and see the massive black shadow on my tree. It's a little intimidating. Makes me feel like he 's looking at me for his next lunch

It may be some kind of voulcher too. Too big to be a hawk and possibly an eagle. I do see a golden eagle frequently a few blocks away and he 's not that big. Bigger than a hawk, yes, but smaller than that black thing that visits my Willow now and then. The Golden eagle usually on the same tree on this rural road next to a swamp about a mile from my house. Golden Eagles can be light brown or regular brown color. That thing on my tree look dark brown to black. When it opens its wings and flies away it just looks very big & impressive so it's probably a vulcher but its beak doesn't look like an ugly vulcher's beak, more like an eagle beak. I could be wrong. It's kind of dark inside that willow.. Do we have any large dark brown/black eagles in the NorthEast? I 've seen vulchers not far from here eating dead deer but they are definitely turkey vulchers with that ugly turkey looking head and massive beak. Can they feed they do it numbers. This guy is always by himself. I 'll take a look at him with my binaculars next time or a scope to try and id him. If it's a vulcher, I 'll look into the hunting laws but I don't think they 're protected and I have not see a open season for them, which means I can take a crack at him with my .22LR maybe if the neighbors are not around..
