Good on you for getting a pellet sampler pack. Often, folks new to airguns tend to try one or two types of pellets and fail to experiment.

With regard to pellet selection, a couple of things you should know.

Heavy pellets during break in. Your information is a bit mixed up. Heavier pellets DO accelerate dieseling, but this is a GOOD thing. This means that the excess oils are burnt up quicker. It's often recommended to shoot 20-40 heavy pellets through a new gun to help burn off the excess.

Heavy pellets in magnum springers. This is hit or miss. In .177, where pellets of normal weight cant reach the 1100fps mark, it IS advisable to use a heavier pellet. Despite some companies claim to push 1000fps as a good thing, often, for accuracy, you need to have your velocity substantially lower, thus the suggestion for heavier pellets in .177.

In .22, normal weight pellets are quite heavy enough to keep subsonic so there is no need to reach for the heaviest of pellets... in fact, with a spring piston airgun, you LOSE power by using heavier pellets. With your 350 in .22, you should do best with pellets in the 14-16 grain range as far as power...

BUT...

Power isnt everything. Accuracy is. If you find that your gun is more accurate with a heavier pellet, then so be it. Sure, a heavier pellet may shorten spring life, but these are disposable items anyway and fairly easy to change out.

Hope this helps out a bit!
