The RS-2 is on the lower end of the scale as far as quality. The Spanish and Chinese made Beeman guns are a far cry from the German made Beemans.

I say that not to discourage you right off the bat, but to give an honest assessment of where you are now with your equipment. Certainly not trying to piss in your corn flakes so to speak. You very well may find that this RS-2 is perfect for your airgunning needs and can be very happy with it. You may find that you expect more and will have to upgrade. You also may really get bit with the airgun bug and end up with an entire 'airsenal' before long. It all just depends. Just dont base your opinion of all spring guns off this one particular gun.

Depending on how you are able to group your new rifle, I'd say you should be just fine for smaller critters, squirrel and rabbit sized and down, out to 30 yards or so.

You really should leave the Coons and such for a more powerful gun. With an airgun, 20fpe is generally regarded as a minimum for coons. Your RS-2 should be putting out 13 or so fpe. Despite the velocity claims (I think your gun boasts 800fps in .22?) you should be getting around 620fps if you are lucky in .22. Do not be discouraged by this. There are much better quality airguns that also inflate their velocity claims, most notably, RWS.

Best advice is to shoot the gun with a variety of ammo... find out what groups best in it.... find out what your shooting ability is with the gun.... and stick to that range for smaller critters. Break out the rimfire or .32 for the coons.
