Well

by Richard Whiley

Well, I think he crosses the ball well, I think he has a real understanding of what is happening around him - more than anyone recently at The Walks except possibly Paul Raynor - I expect his corners to cause problems in opponents defences, I ALWAYS expect his free kicks to be on - or very near - to target (and more often than not, score). We'd have a few extra goals this season if we hadn't squandered free kick opportunities - and, "Yes", Staffy could do it, too - but he's gone and Mark is here again, thank goodness!

I think he is the most skilful and thoughtful player I've seen at The Walks in a while - up there with Raynor.

Motivation is, as you say, sometimes a problem. But, he must play (in my opinion) and he must be Captain and then - as he often did during the second half of last year - he MUST lead by example.

And let's hope the moaners keep off his back.

And let's hope he delivers!!!
