| The diodes not only lower the impedance of the power supply, but they are faster. This helps not only the bottom but adds a bit of clarity to the high frequencies. Also, with the diodes you can add more capacitance to the power supply, thus supporting the bottom even more. Tube rectifiers are limited to 80mF max.
