You mentioned the veg oil gumming up the rings. What exactly did you experience with your veg oil fuel/engine combo? I know you went to a lot of effort to prep the Caddy for veg oil, so I surmise it must have been something seriously negative. Are you burning biodiesel now instead?
I'm still prepping my '84 1.6 NA diesel Jetta for commuter duty, not much more to go. The seller's definition of streetworthy and mine were different, but I got that impression before I won the auction. It's a good starting point, as the important components function well. The car did successfully drive from Idaho to Texas last September. I got what I paid for, maybe more.
