Once refined, it is biodiesel.

Response to refineries for veggie oil

And there are biodiesel plants in many states. Doesn't matter if it's used or fresh veg oil. This is why I am excited about the bills that would allow the cultivation of industrial hemp in California and North Dakota. The yield of oil from hemp seed is better than most anything grown here. Jatropha and rape are also good sources, but hemp has the added benefit of it's great fibers. You can supply the local biodiesel refinery and the local paper mill with this seasonally renewable crop. But you've already heard my speaches on that. Joe, time to write a bill and give it to yer congress critter. Boost the farm economy in ol' Virginny.

Using veg straight is cool, too, but it requires all the heaters & shit. After doing that conversion, I think I like the biodiesel approach better, although making your own requires even more shit to buy and build.
