on the Fernandes Tele today. I haven't picked that guitar up for some time and the tone pot went from like crunchy and sticky to frozen. It was beyond vice grips. This is the guitar that has the FGI pickups...similar to EGM's I guess. So anyway I had a 500k pot laying around so I said what the hell...I dont remember the value of the resistor. Pretty amazed at the results. I have been setting the tone somewhere between 3 and 12 o'clock with the Oahu...and this was fine with the 500k set about 5, and at these setting the guitar was clear with litte sound colouring.It had a very nice chime to it. Then I maxed the amp treble and the 500k...at half volume and half gain the guitar was so clear and bright it was a bit spooky. Then I switched to the bridge pick up only and brought the volume up on the amp a bit more. It was razor sharp, I could have shaved with it, but the sound was still clear with just a bit of break up. I knew it would be brighter but this is way beyond anything I could have imagined.
I guess it a combination of the 500k and the electronic pup's.
