This is what we got when grunge hit.....back then, only pearl jam and AIC had guitarists that could really play a good solo, and I still maintain that's the best benchmark of a guitarist's abilities.


It's perpetuated these days by the way most teenagers won't keep their nose to the grindstone.....same thing while they "play" guitar. Every kid wants instant gratification on everything.


Only "new" band that comes immediately to mind with a capable guitarist is disturbed....some decent solos there.
