Didn't Like the Blues JR

I did some work on a Blues Junior for a friend and I didn't like that amp much at all really, stock.... I think it's one of those cases where they are trying to make a little amp sound like a big one. To me the amp just isn't voiced very well especially with the stock speaker. On the amp I work on the customer wanted adjustable bias and some tweaking. I can't remember exactly but I think I played with the tone stack and a coupling cap or two to try to get it to lose some of the bottom end it had at to get it to have some treble. Changing the speaker to an Electro Harmonix 12ALP or whatever they call their alnico magnet 20 watt 12 helped it more than anything giving it some response and real drive. Comparing it to a stock amp we were amazed at the difference, it was really ok then... Much better amp in my opinion is the Tech 21 Trademark 60.
