I decided to build a speaker cab for the Traynor YRM-1 head. It has to be small to fit in my home office with all my other stuff. It's pretty well filled up and my wife won't let me move my stereo system to the living room. A 1x12 cab would be perfect and I have an old D120-F JBL sitting unused. I posted on the Lansing forum and asked for suggestions as to best design. A couple of guys offered good ideas. And, them much to my surprise Harvey Gerst took over. If you don't know, Harvery was the engineer at JBL who designed the D120 speaker during the late 60's. Apparently he frequents the Lansing forum. And to make it even better he's a huge fan of the Traynor YRM-1 amp, and even has one. I'm going with a 22Hx20wx12D un-ported cab with two back. One solid to run the enclosure closed and a second partial open back. This way I can run it either and and decide which I like best.

There's a moral in all this. One I've always known and appreciated. It's not what you know, but who you know. Harvey is an example of this, but even more so is Tom who's master volume mod for my Ceriatone brought the little amp to a whole new level.

I can't wait to play with the Traynor and to see if you guys have any ideas for mods. I have read that the treble bleed cap should be changed.
