Ibanez linky

I see the ibanez has two tones, and the hamer one, the ibanez has the pickup switch up top, the hamer down low, I've only played Fenders but the Ibanez is setup like a gibby I presume.

I dont like the volume tone arrangement...or where the pup selector switch is on the Hammer. I don't like that Hammer at all ...from looking at it on paper.

I've never been crazy About Ibanez either but I prefer it over the Hammer. I do think I've read the pups in the Ibanez are kinda sucky, but thats just what I've heard. I also dont know the neck radius or the string spacing at the bridge or nut. I was playing an Artcore today and it's didn't do a thing for me. It felt like the neck of a student guitar. Fat and flat.

I would shop around a bit more if you have money burning holes in yer pocket. Wait and get something you really want 64.

There are really only two types of guitars...Strats and ES 335's.....all the rest are bunk.....

why are they giving away guitars these days ?

April 23 2006, 3:44 PM

when I bought my first it was a contemporary strat , practically bottom of the barrell and it cost over 200 dollars . Now you can get guitars ... all over for under 100 ! they've got em at sam goody's !

Kinda spooky to me ..

I was thinking about going into the guitar making business but how can you make a guitar in 2006 for less than 200 bucks ? I don't see how you could do it , just figuring in my head.

Alot of the Really Cheap ones...

Are made of plywood. Of course they call it laminated something are other but its plywood. Don't get me wrong now, I played those squiers and although I would rather have a fender those squiers are decent players. If I was to get all townsend on one I would play a song are two on one of them squiers then bash the hell out of it and call it a show. Oh I'm not saying Squiers are made from plywood they are agaithis are basswood, but the 99 dollar guitars are usually plywood.

Now that I think about it the style of the Hamer would be what I'm used too. You know Fenders have the pickup selector down by the knobs. I would have to get used to reaching up to switch the pickups. I guess I'll just let my girlfriend decide.

yeah ! plywood doesn't exist , it's laminate now

April 25 2006, 9:13 AM

used cars don't exist either they're pre-owned , somebody was thoughtful enough to buy a car for you and break it in / get the bugs out then turn it over to you for a fraction of what it cost them.

Do You remember when bob villa was hawking robo grips ? said they were as strong as plywood ! cause of the construction technique ! He was right ... they're about as strong as plywood .

Actually you are right about it being laminate now

Its not plywood and they can't call it that, as plywood has alternating layers of hardwood and softwood(pine or similar). Laminate is all softwood, the log is peeled into sheets then layered with each sheet across the grain of the one below, with adhesive applied bwtween before being microwaved while being rolled to produce Laminated Veneer Lumber. Almost as good as plywood but way cheaper to produce.
