Today in the mail a set of speakers that I bought for $5 on E-bay arrived. They are a set of Radio Shack Optimus(might have been sold as Minimus) XTS 25 Model 40-1999a's. I'm very impressed with their sound quality when driven by my little home made 2A3 powered amp. They are clean sounding with a very detailed mid range and they have a reasonable amount of "body" no heavy bass here but really nice sound quality. They are perfect for a nice little system for an office or something. What a deal for someone on a budget.
Another reason why I like Altecs is that they are so efficient you can drive them loudly with small amps. I still keep some 71As and 45s for future projects.
