I live in Tazewell county and can only pick up mercer county "happenings" because I have their frequencies. I am told Tazewell County Sheriff's Department hsa a new trunked system which I have no clue what that means but is there a way to get their frequencies or not?

I have a bearcat scanner and I can get tact channel freq. but every time that I put them in I get a totally different channel freq. So how can I get my scanner to take tact channel freq. and hear what is going on??????

When you enter the frequency it will round off in the scanner due to the channel spacing on your scanner. You'll still hear the transmission :)

Tazewell County sheriff's main repeater frequency for the western part of the county is 155.7975, but some scanners round it off to 155.800. The tactical car to car operations frequency for tazewell county sheriff's office is 153.350. It took me forever to get a hold of this frequency. I finally used a frequency counter as a cop car was passing me and there is was!
