Where are the contributors?

I just got to know about this interesting site. I am however surprised to note that the last contribution was posted since October 2007. I advise that more awareness be created concerning the site. More seriousness is also welcome.

I would like to add my voice to the need or otherwise of dividing Okpofe in two.

There are good sides to the division. Consider a situation where amenities are distributed equally to different autonomous communities. Okpofe as it stands now will get just one portion whereas Ihitte gets 3, Amumara gets 2 and so on.

I see opposition to the idea as merely political and parochial. The division will not take away a thing from us because we know ourselves, our family ties will remain intact.

Why don^t we at least be progressive in our thinking.

We must remember that tomorrow is definitely greater than today.

Thank you.

Bar. Chidi,

It's my pleasure to welcome you to Okpofe Town Hall.
Over the years I have noticed that the presence of new contributors actually helps to rejuvenate the Town Hall. They bring fresh ideas, fresh enthusiasm, and fresh topics.

Come back often, and spread the word.

Dividing Okpofe into two

March 6 2008, 5:49 AM

I quite appreciate the enthusiasm of Barrister Chidi on the issue. In as much there are good sides to dividing the autonomous community into two, there is every need to play on the side of caution. Some of the peaceaful communities that existed as one family, have not known peace and oneness since they got divided into two, three or more, as the case may be.

As far I am concerned, Okpofe is too small a family to be divided. With proper planning and understanding, and with the determination to move okpofe forward, there is nothing these other divided 'families' came get that Okpofe cannot get. Even with the so-called dvision yet okpofe town is still more developed than many of them. There are better amenities and facilities in okpofe than in other surrounding towns. Business booms in Okpofe than in other areas.

It is my humble opinion that Okpofe should tread on the side of caution, and not to jump into division in name of getting the share of the 'national cake'
