This is not by any means one of the spectacular battles of WWII, but it has one interesting feature. The fighting between German paratroopers and the Norwegian Royal Guard allowed the King to escape (ultimately to the UK). I assume this must be one of the few Royal Guards that have actually had to perform their prime duty, defend the monarch?
