CINEMA: ITALY-ALBANIA; SKANDERBEG FILM SHOOT ENDS
(ANSAmed) - TIRANA, SEPTEMBER 12 - The shooting of a short film on the leader of mercenaries Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, realised for 'Im.ar.TT' project between Italy and Albania, has ended, the Information Office for cooperation of the Region of Apulia in Tirana announced. In Albania the film was shot in Berat, Kruj and Tirana; in Apulia on the route Bari - Basso Salento, with destination Diso. The leading actor is an Albanian from Academy of Fine Art of Tirana who, wearing the costumes of the epoch, covers the route realised by the Albanian national hero and his descendants. A statement says that the idea "is drawn on a story told by a 'narrator and commentator'" who "after turning up suddenly in the 21st century, at the foot of a monument dedicated to the hero in the central square of Tirana (from where as for magic the figure of the rider has disappeared and only the horse has remained there), will embark a road that will lead him do a very personal and particular trip". In this way a travel "for discovery of today's Albania and of Salentòs area starts, going through the streets an the places where Skanderbeg lived". "Reflections on Albania at the time of Skanderbeg, the relations with Venice, with the Papacy and with the Kingdom of Naples and the situation of today's Albania and its relations with Europe and the Mediterranean will be made" in the film.
