Sweden tieing with trinidad and tobago? No way Trinidad are probably the worst team there and Sweden are a very strong team.

England were very average yesterday..no thanks to taht twat erikson and that riduclus referee.First off,when the **** is erikson gonna realise that england is not italy! for gods sake,its happening all over again.Defending 1-0 leads against teams like paraguay.Leaving crouch upfront on his own(good one sven!),crouch couldnt hold the ball up if his life depended on it,and with no strike partner to head the ball down to? Rooney or not eriksons gotta do bettr than that. He basically took his only stiker out of the game when he took owen off...well done sven,bravo!
As for that referee,what planet was that guy on? It seemed liek every tackle that an english player did was a foul..wtf.
Still argentina and sweden were just as average as us.Looks like all the top teams are very nervous.

I'm unimpressed with the "best English team since 1966". But to be fair, most of them (and neutrals alike) probably did underestimate Paraguay a bit.
But what was really shocking IMO is that they didn't create a single decent chance in the offense. Either free kicks, corners or distance shots.
Rooney is missed.
I'm shocked by the Sweden result. I haven't seen the game, so I won't comment that much.
Impressive game by both the Argentinians and Ivorians. Ayala and Heinze are a fantastic defence pairing, I shudder to think how we would have handled the pace of the Ivory Coast. Riquelme, Drogba and Kalou were great too.

@Bharat you were right lol, I can't believe it Trinidad and Tobago played their hearts out while Sweden was extremely disappointing.
@Mistral LOL they all play for Beveren right? I remember in belgium how beveren was basically an african team with only two white players, a defender and the goalie lol.
@Nero Argentina weren't at their best but they sure as hell played better than England, who beat a Paraguayan side that played below par. And whom scored an own goal. The thing is while the english media overhypes their team, the England team seemed satisfied with the result, I sense a similiar world cup as usual for the english.

The Argentinians impressed me with their coolness and killer instinct, they really didn't need too many chances. And it must be also mentioned that they still have players such as Tevez, Messi and Ayala (who was subbed in) on the bench.

Well tbh after that game i think it could be the usual world cup...but only because of erikson.When rooneys back things will get a lot better...but i just cant over the fact that erikson is doing it again.
One thing reaver,we actually had a few corners and a few long shots.Lampard,cole and gerrard all forced the keeper into a save,beckham came very close.But what did paraguay do? they were tottaly shut out of the game,robinsons fumble was their only 'chance' .They had 11 men behind the ball for most of the game...and the referees riduculus decsions didnt help either
Argentian were far from impressive aswell,they didnt deserve 2 goals and they were playing againt ivory coast for gods sake,an ivory coast taht was hell bent on attacking....enough said.
2-1 is not impressive,nor is englands 1-0 or germanys 4-2.England should have scored more and germany/argies should not have conceded.
Might aswell give the brazilians the trophy now,nnaaaa just joking im sure its just nerves...and ofocurse we still have to see italia,espania and the nederlanders to play yet.

Well, I did say you had some distance shots;)
No what I meant is that with players such as Gerrard, Lampard, Cole and Owen, I thought it would be possible to dislodge Paraguay's defence py playing fast passes into the box or out on the flanks. I saw little of that.
To be honest I think Argentina played this one admirably, even while the Ivorians attacked full steam, the Arg. defence seemed solid as a rock. And with those attacking players they only need a handful of chances to make their goals.
And they even had one goal disallowed!
As to Germany, well we are supposed to be ****e this year and everybody says that. I actually like the role of the underdog;) It also seems that our players are very comfortable with the new ball. Their distance shots were even better than England's for example who have players with a world class shooting technique like Lampard, Gerrard and Beckham.

And Paraguay had some scenes, mainly Valdez and that long-haired, blonde dude. But yes, nothing major, compliments to Terry and Ferdinand. But Cole and Neville were a bit shaky.

This comment is not far from the truth... It could've been a defeat for argentina if they had played a stronger African team like Nigeria or Cameroun. I hope they (Argentines) put on a better performance in their next matches.
