I've never heard of this. Just shows what kind of importance it has in Europe. The best clubs are in Europe in my opinion.

Liverpool lost last year to Sao Paulo, it isn't big in England simply because they rarely win it! It's actually alot more important in places like Italy and Spain.

The best players of the world play in Europe. European teams dominate national team football (see recent WC). The CL is IMO the most prestigeous club trophy in the world.

And where do half of your big time players come from? Europe has money, if latin american leagues weren't so broke the only difference would be the number of south american players leaving wouldn't be as great. However if european teams are so much more dominant than how come head to head with south american teams have they lost? Money doesn't win a football match.

Does that matter though? The question was which teams are better. While money is most certainly the main reason for the dominance it does not matter. At the end European teams are superior.
And please state which games and in what competition have they lost? Some pointless Super Cup?

Okay which teams are better then? If you were to compare the overall leagues and teams I would agree, but I'd put the top 10 best of latin america against europe anyday. Players like Ronaldinho and Kaka did at one point play in Brazil, they were just as talented.
"And please state which games and in what competition have they lost? Some pointless Super Cup?"
Their is no other comparisson, whether its pointless thats just the opinion from a german/northern european perspective.

For example let us take the G 14
Real Madrid
AC Mailand
FC Liverpool
Ajax Amsterdam
FC Bayern München
FC Barcelona
Juventus Turin
Inter Mailand
FC Porto
Manchester United
Borussia Dortmund
PSV Eindhoven
FC Valencia
Olympique Marseille
FC Arsenal
Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Paris SG
Olympique Lyon
Replace Leverkusen with Werder Bremen, Dortmund with Schalke 04, PSG with Chelsea and voila. Can you name 14 South American clubs that are as good?
WRT the supercup, well it is just that this trophy means really not that much in Europe anyway. The CL is seen as the top achievement by any European club.

European teams are no better than the South American ones, in the intercontinental cup South American teams won 23 against 22. It's a very lame excuse to say that's because europeans don't care much about the competition.

I find it harder and harder to care about club football. Why should it matter to me which club wins if all the clubs are to an ever increasing extent made of foreigners, and third world foreigners at that? The notion that I should support a club where all the stars are foreigners is laughable. Ultimately I think that despite the "galactic" transfer fees and intense excitement elicited by the major signings this will eventually lead to a loss of relevancy for club football.
Yeah, we won!
Onward Chartered Soldiers, on to heathen lands,
Prayer books in your pockets, rifles in your hands.
Take the glorious tidings where trade can be done,
Spread the peaceful gospel --- with a Maxim gun.
Tell the wretched natives, sinful are their hearts,
Turn their heathen temples into spirit marts.
And if to your teaching they will not succumb,
Give them another sermon with the Maxim gun...
When the Ten Commandments they quite understand,
You their Chief must hocus, and annex their land;
And if they misguided call you to account,
Give them another sermon --- with a Maxim from the Mount

No I believe the competition Man U played was something similiar but wasn't the Intercontinental cup, instead a tournament in Brazil in which they played poorly and got out early on.
In 1999 however Man U did also play in the intercontinental cup where they beat Brazilian side Palmeiras 1-0.
