Im watching it right now......foking laughable. Almost all their players are class players and yet they have lots of issues. Such a shame if they dont make it.....and get that coach OUT.

What is there to say, really? I feel devestated and angry. Gerrard and Lampard, famous for their amazing 30 yard goals, did either even take a shot? I don't think I heard Lampard's name once other than during the penalty. No pace in the defence, that was clear to see. Wayne Bridge? Worst player on the pitch today in my opinion. I feel bad for Carson and I believe he'll go on to become a great player. Peter Crouch was definitely the best player for England tonight.
What pisses me off the most is the lack of urgency during most of the game. Even though Beckham came on at half time, not at all match fit.. he seemed to be the only one who really wanted to win.
Mclaren will surely be sacked, surely. He should of course resign, but I doubt he will. I do agree with some of his selections tonight, though. I would have played a 4-4-2, definitely. But, Defore on for Gerrard/Lampard would have been the only difference. Carson, I'd have picked. The defence pretty much picked itself. Personally I've rated Wayne Bridge as better than Ashley Cole in the last year or so for gods sake!
The question now is where do England go from here? Well I have no idea. Something big needs to change, we need new thinking. A more tactically minded manager, one who shakes everything up. Scolari or Hiddink perhaps. In fact, I say bring on Martin O'Neil. With him in charge, I think it would only be the players left to blame.
Anyway, overall, being an England fan is crap. Not enough highs and too many lows. I'm going to struggle to be interested in their next few games. Mind you, they'll be some meaningless friendlies during the summer anyway.

Actually the reason for England's poor performance is not only the coach.
The problem is that IMO you overrate yourselves far too much. You have the best league in the world and some very good players, but right now you just don't have the class as a team to compete with the best. Rooney, Terry etc. may be great players for their teams, but they also profit greatly from foreign talent in those teams.
In Germany we were at this point in 1998. We had a really bad team of old and worn out players mainly. We improved our youth system considerably and now we are reaping the rewards with players like Schweinsteiger, Podolski, Lahm, Mertesacker etc.
England just need to wait for another generation of players, sometimes it is just like that.
You have a good point Reaver. But on paper this England team should be one of the best in the world. Rooney, Owen, Lampard, Gerrard, Hargreaves, Terry, Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole. I think they're all class players. But, like you say, thats for their clubs.
I suppose the only plus is that the U21's are doing well lately. Walcott in particular could be a great partner for Wayne Rooney one day.
But even if we do become much better with a new generation, its still going to be agony in the meantime.

Just not good enough, the best league in the world line doesn't apply because it's the foreigners in the league which make it what it is, Do you think the international audience out there tune in to watch Rooney or Gerrard?? No ! they watch it because of the quality which it has brough before them, Ginola, Henry, Bergkamp, Pires Cantona AND Now Fabregas, Ronaldo, Tevez, Fernando Torres...FCK the English boys who think they are superior to the rest of the world! you are always over hyping your teams and your quality and this is now the cuppapence...It's gonna be a lonely Summer for your boys next Year!!

Everybody has idols, don't be a fool ...You can feel sorry all you want buddy but the Summer will be a Long one if you are an England supporter in '08!! But i suppose being from a backward losing country like UK you must be used to it.

McClaren is a nice guy, but as a manager he has no idea wtf he's doing. But the blame as to go towards the players, they were all rubbish except for Beckham! I mean Gerrard holy sh1t I've never seen such a crap performance. And why the fvck did he choose Carson over David James? Based on performances alone James is the best keeper coupled with actual experience. Also defensively England were crap, the 2nd goal was a joke how 2 Croatian players against 5 English defenders could score so easily.
But do you know the real error, it has nothing to do with 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 formation. After England scored the equalizer they went for the third goal, that was retarded considering that Croatia was always an offensive threat. England should have kept the ball and played conservative. All they needed was a draw against a decent team at home!!

The problem with England is that with a rally call and a motivational speech out of Churchils little book of BS the English think they can play like the Brazilians LOL, England are out of their depth, Do you honestly think that with over 50% of their players on over £100k and upwards they have the motivation to play for the shirt??? The Ministry of Defence is to consider giving British soldiers basic equipment such as clothes that fit and boots that don't melt in the summer, it announced today. When Turkey comes out and wins something I think then and only then can you really attack the English. I mean you must have forgotten they won the last World Cup in Rugby Union.
