I also heard that Age of Conan was a very good game with good graphics, the Conan "world" atmosphere and unique PVP style. Is it really good? But I heard it requires a good system to play with.
I'm playing 2moons now as an MMORPG, it's good and free to play I'm waiting for the Knights of the Old Republic MMO being developed by Bioware/EA and Lucasarts, I guess it will be a very good game because of Star Wars universe and huge Jedi-Sith wars that is going to happen. Hopefully they will make a good game.
I tried Conan and liked it fairly well, I just am not cut out to be an MMO player though. I just do not have the time, nor the inclination to do all the farming required to get the really good stuff. The quests are entertaining sometimes, but they actually can become to extensive as you keep getting sent around in circles a lot of times to complete one.
I do have to say that if you are into playing 12 hours a day and do not mind the repetivie tasks of it (some of my squadmates have no problem with this) then I would say you will probably love it. It is a great looking game and the mechanics are ok. Their are some bugs though were you get stuck a lot, and things like that.
The truth is out there - you just may not like hearing it.
The one thing that ticked me off about Conan was the community. They had a major inferiority complex. They would rant on and on about people who played WoW, and their constant complaint was "you don't like Conan because it doesn't have the easy button WoW has"
That had to be the most retarded remark more often than not made by the people in the game. But all the while, Conan literally walked you to and through EVERY quest, it was DIRT EASY to level (took me a day and a half to level to 32), and did everything for you.
Epic gear dropped from even the easiest of mobs. (even though Funcoms idea of gear was all screwed up.. I had Level 10 gear that had better stats than level 30 gear I was getting from quests)
The community for the most part was full of arrogant SOB's who would lose their minds if ANY comparison to WoW was ever made...
Then Funcom started baiting people with the PvP patch, that went on for months... I finally decided enough was enough and they weren't getting another monthly subscription out of me on the hopes that the PvP patch would "be out in a few weeks"... and sure enough, it wasn't.
Anarchy Online was the only game Funcom ever did right.
