Hi,
Herfølge is the name of a village. I would guess there's around 6000 inhabitants. Many unintereted in football. Nearby is Køge, a town of apprx. 65000. Many fans live here - although most in that town support Køge BK, who play in the 1st division (2nd tier).
I think the average gate is around 1400. So not impressive - compared to say Britain. Even comparing ourselves with our neighbours in Sweden.
I'm also a HUGE Swansea City supporter. In the English 3rd division they often have 7000+ supporters. We only get that when the nearest big club take a lot of supporters. Playing Brøndby and FC Copenhagen, we're usually out numbered 1:3!
But it's a good club! And very faithfull supporters. And there's a great non-pretentious feeling about the whole place. In FC Copenhagen and other big clubs, they get a lot of fickle support, from people who supported Lievrpool in the 80ies, who they switched to Man United, and now follow Arsenal. Get the idea? The average Herfølge supporter never did that!
Herfølge's done it all: won the championship in 2000, got relegated to the 1st division the following season! As a supporter of that club, you get used to ups and downs! :-)
Anyway, I've started reminicing ... dangerous and time consuming :-)
Thanks again!
