The two christs.

There are two christs, one being Jesus, and the other being Elijah. In the days of Jesus both Jesus and John were "messiah", because both were anointed by God. John by the angel, to his father, and Jesus by the Father when he was baptised. The book of Zechariah speaks of Joshua and Zerubabbel, of being the two messiahs. Messiah means anointed, or officially appointed by God as having authority.

Zechariah 4-14. Then he said, "These are the two "messiahs" who stand by the Lord of the whole earth."

It is written in Zacheriah 3-4. he said, "Behold, I have taken your sin away from you." Speaking of Joshua. This prophecy cannot refer to Jesus as is commonly understood because Jesus is without sin. This fact is further illustrated by the next verse:

7. "Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.

There is no question that Jesus doesn't need to be told that IF you walk in my ways, and IF you keep my laws. So Joshua is not christ Jesus, but he is the "man of sin", as it is his sin that is removed from him. He is the messiah also, and it is between the two of them, that is Jesus and the man of sin, who was John the baptist, and who was Elijah, between the two of them that the authority is held.
