What about peace and friendship ?
We live in Ayvalik and since some years guests from
Lesvos are comming to do shopping in Ayvalik
and they are very welcome.
A lot of Greeks are comming to see the old greek houses
left from former habitants (Ayvalik has 1800 greek houses
and around 22 churches).
Some are even comming to see their grandfathers house.
Due to the population exchange a lot of turks from Crete were
sent to Ayvalik. A lot of them didnīt speak turkish very
well. You still find old people talking the turkish
with a greek accent.
Why Iīm writing this... itīs interesting how they uses to
live together in peace. I wish somebody would make a documentation
movie and let others know...
