You know, we knew my father could take beautiful photographs from the get-go. He was briefly a pro photographer. When my brother started getting beautiful 35 mm photos, it was a bit of a surprise to my parents because he'd never shown any artistic inclinations. I think my mother pulled the same surprise years later when she went to the UK/Ireland the year my father retired. It was her first camera since high school and her photographs were gorgeous. What can I say? I'm surrounded by people who can take fantastic pictures!
