Today, the 23rd, marks 50 years since the last of our revolutions. My fellow hungarians, please join me in commemorating those of our people that stood and fought for what has always been the epitome and guiding light of our nation; freedom.
Thousands of people were murdered in a matter of days. Many would claim they died in vain. In some ways maybe so. On the other hand, this is what makes us, what defines us. We have always been, we will always be a scourge to so many of our neighbours. We lived through the rebellion of 1956 and of 1848 and through so many other atrocities.
On this gloomy monday, I've found that I not only hope but believe that our future is bright.
Thanks for your time/ Ernö
