Response to One word can change the entire meaning if a person doesnt know the biblical big picture |
| Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
See you would notice that Jesus is the image of the invisible God..since God is invisible,God became Jesus to see his(God) image in the form of man(Jesus) to see his fulness and divinity..as GOD...now why is Jesus is the first born of every creature...of course for God for him to become human and for him too see his images in the form of Jesus..He has to be borned through a virgin Mary with out any participation of a human father but by God.
now you would notice that he was the first born of every creature..but the fact is Jesus was borned after Mary existense...but the verse says the first born of every creature..which contradicts the time where Mary existense on earth..
Fot it not to contradicts the bible.simply Jesus is to be somebody who is devine/existed before everybody else:as its say in many verses in the bible:
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).
in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form" (Colossians 2:9). John says, "He (Jesus) is the true God and eternal life" (1 John 5:20)
There are numerous titles or metaphors used of Jesus that are also used of God, such as Saviour, Rock, Light, the Bridegroom, the first and the last, Alpha and Omega, I am, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Shepherd, Master, etc.
The fact that Paul, a person steeped in the Old Testament understanding of the Spirit of God, should so easily call him the Spirit of Christ as well, is as strong a confirmation as one could get of Christ's full divinity (e.g. Romans 8:9).
.and the last verse 17:and he is before all things, and by him all things consist...
All things being created by Him(Jesus), were created for him; being made by his power, they were made according to his pleasure, and for his praise and glory. He not only created them all at first, but it is by the word of his power that they are upheld. All fulness dwells in him; a fulness of merit and righteousness, of strength and grace for us. God showed his justice in requiring full satisfaction. | |
