It is a sad day for the whole Church of Christ, but as what Bro. Erano Manalo, Ka Erdy always quote "To live is Christ, to die is gain". Truly, he lived a life in Christ and spending all of it in the service of God. His memories will stay in our hearts until we meet the Lord.
It was just those Jews, who misunderstood him, thinking he claimed that. So he had to correct them in chapter 10 of John, pointing out that all who get God's word are gods. So in that sense he claimed to be a god, but did not claim to be God. He was careful not to say if he is God or not.
