There are several books about Canadian peacekeepers.

Major-General Lew Mackenzie has written "The Road to Sarjevo".

John Gardam has written three books; "Canadians in War and Peacekeeping" which includes a chapter on the design and building of the National Peacekeeping Memorial in Ottawa, "The Canadian Peacekeeper", and "Korea Volunteer" (not a PK mission actually but close).

**Sean Maloney and John Llambias have written "Chances for Peace", about Canadian peackeepers in the Balkans, ie: former Yugoslavia.

**Ron Pupetz has written "In the Line of Duty,Canadian Joint Force in Somalia 1992-1993".

Richard Gimblett has written "Operation Apollo", about the Canadian Navy in the Persian Gulf in the War against terrorism, and he co-authored with Jean Morin "Operation Friction", about the Canadians in the Gulf War 1990-1991, also known as the Gulf War. Both are super accounts of Canadian Forces in action.

Those marked are available from Vanwell Publishing in St Catherines, Ontario at sales@vanwell.com.

John Gardam's books are available from him at his address in Ottawa and in some bookstores or from the publisher General Store Publishing House, Burnstown, Ontario or at http://www.gsph.com

For real indepth knowlege, look for the United Nations book The Blue helmet, third edition. Its available from the UN in New York and from several bookstores in Canada.

The foregoing is just a partial list. There are many more. The publisher of "Esprit de Corps" has written a book that includes a chapter about the Medak Pocket, Yugoslavia battle which really makes one proud to be a Canadian soldier, especialy a Reservist.

Good reading and happy hunting for the books.

DT.
