A 48th Highlander

September 23 2006 at 5:45 PM

Hi there

A friend showed me some material he got about his maternal grandfather, Albert Anderson

He served in the 48th Highlanders (15th Battalion) and was wounded at Vimy Ridge. Among the material my friend has is his grandfather's Glengarry and this ID bracelet. Was this made from his ID tags or is it a separate item?

He also has a stack of these embroidered greeting cards.

All have a message on the back and a date, but few show an address and none have postage. Could they have been sent back in evelopes or bundled in a package?

Also, can someone suggest a good history of the 48th (15th Battalion) in WW1?

TIA]

Steve
