Response to Date of introduction of "1949" pattern BD
Check out the style of lapel on the 1947 dated BD and tell me if it is "really" 1949 pattern.

Then pull out your copy of Tyler's book...On page 168 he clearly identified a 1947 pattern, which may be the source of your confusion.
