Jeweller?

I have thought of asking a jeweller if they could re-frost a badge for me. I'm interested in what others have to say on this subject as well.
By the way, I didn't realize that artillery officers wore silver cap badges. All of the arty officer badges that I've seen were either brass or bronze coloured.
