It just so happens that Ken Joyce, author of Service Publications' "Into the Maelstrom" is in the final throes of geting his next book ready for press. "Crimson Spearhead" should go to press around Christmastime, shortly after I get back from Haiti. However, if your friend has a portrait photo (and any others) we may wish to include it/them. Would your friend be willing to allow these to be scanned and reproduced in the book? It may be a fitting tribute.
