| From a search of my records I found the following:
1913 (1920?) No. 3 Section, 6 Signal Company (Salt Springs, N.S.) (GO 96 1913)
1920 (1929?) No. 7 (Fortress) Signal Co. (Halifax) (GO 56 1920)
1920 (1929?) 6th Signal Battalion H.Q. (Halifax) (GO 233 1920)
1920 (1929?) No. 9 Signal Company (Sidney) (GO 233 1920)
1929 - 1936 6th Divisional Signals H.Q. (Halifax) (GO 82 1929)
(In 1929 Companies in each Divisional Signals were redesignated No. 1, 2 and 3 Company but which became which in N.S. is not clear)
1936 - ???? No. 6 Composite Company (Halifax) (GO 54 1936)
1936 - 1941 No. 6 Fortress Signal Company (Halifax) (GO 54 1936)
1941 - ???? No. 6 Company, Atlantic Command Signals
1950-1960 East Coast Signal Regiment (Intercom Magazine, 723 Comm Sqn History)
1960-1965 6th Signal Regiment
1965-1970 No. 1 Signal Squadron
1970- present 723 Communication Squadron
During the years of the Second World War there were many other units including 6th District Signals, Atlantic Command Signals HQ and Operating sections etc that were in Halifax and more still throughout N.S. |
