Response to 1983 cfs nanaimo map -or- 1985 cfb wainwright map

Our regimental archives at The Military Museums in Calgary possesses an extensive map library; I have to believe they have several Wainwright maps, and suspect all four regiments represented there have probably got similar holdings. I'd be willing to wager the BC regiments have Nanaimo maps somewhere in their archives. If you want to purchase an original unissued map, I couldn't help you - I don't know that they are classified information, but since the public pays for them, I don't think the CF is in the business of selling maps - but you might be able to talk to the curator or archivist of one of the regimental museums and arrange for a colour scan, with a view to reproducing the map yourself, if all you want is an item to enhance a uniform display.

Original maps do get tucked into pockets at end of exercises and probably taken home inadvertently and end up in collections if not returned to unit stores. You may find one via garage sale, online auction, etc., but would no doubt be in rougher shape.

If it is a terrain map you want, civilian mapping places sell geologic survey maps of major tracts of Alberta and BC to hikers, seismic companies, etc., in the most common scales. You can contact both specialty map stores as well as major hiking and sports suppliers like Mountain Equipment Co-op - these would not be specifically military maps.
