You know, Its a real difficult question about showing the backs of the badges. Its great info for the collector but also important info for the copy artist ( As we have discussed before ). I try not to show too many backs in my books as this is the tell all detail that is dangerous. Maybe I am paranoid however there are some recent repros out of the States of US insignia that one would have thought near impossible to copy. They are just getting better and better. Its a damn shame. I did not want to show the backs of titles such as the embroidered CF&PU because they seem to be an on going project of these people. Their scarcity, unlike so many other so-called RARE badges, is matched by their production numbers. So I thought it wise to do my part in protecting this knowledge. If the copy artist wants to do better, he should have to locate an example and spit out the same bucks as the rest of us to acquire the knowledge. I just think if someone needs to know whether they have an original or copy, the help is here ( OFF FORUM ). Its ok to reveal the repro's but lets try and keep the good stuff under wraps. Anyway just my opinion.
