      On the other hand, it might be conceivable that the Americans recognized the WO rank insignia as that of a WO2, and did not mistake it for that of an O4/Major.
      Warrant Officers, if I am not mistaken, are considered officers in the US Army, not enlisted, and have officer privileges.
