The badge above the service stripes on the right sleeve is not a trade badge. It is the trained soldier badge, called the MARS badge after the sign in the zodiac. The arrow head points toward the left shoulder.
The GS badge indicates that the wearer has volunteered for service outside Canada. It would be replaced by the Volunteer Service Medal (CVSM) after six months service from date of volunteering.
Most trades in the combat arms did not draw trades pay so did not wear the 'T' badge. I would not concern myself about sewing one on your uniform.
