      74-22375 is the Canadian Forces registration number that all vehicles and aircraft have. In Canada you see it on the metal licence plates fixed to each vehicle. 74 is the year of purchase, the balance is a sequential number assigned to the vehicles in each block purchase. 74 is not on the plate simply in interest for size of plate. The one piece of data not used publicly is the ECC - equipment configuration code - a designator for each variant in a fleet of vehicles.

      Given that your vehicle pics are from Germany, HORNET-CAF was probably a unit designator for a squadron flying the CF 18 Hornet.
