The Navy received standard MK.IIs in their factory khaki finish. My impression is that painting practices varied from ship to ship. If repainted at all, they were either repainted standard battle-ship grey, or like Jamie's helmet to match their ship's cammo. A common practice was to paint the sailors rank badge at the front. The practice continued long after the War, as the RCN kept its Mk.IIs well into the 1960s. |
